  • Snipe worthy successor to Camel?: A very well-thought out and written piece!  I would only comment that, even if one assumes that the Snipe was just an equal of the Camel performance-wise, it could be argued as superior on the grounds of much improved robustness- able to absorb more battle damage.  Barker\'s famous mission comes to mind here.  Now, add to that the performance-at-altitude advantage and somewhat less tricky handling characteristics, to me it seems clear that the Snipe was indeed an improvement over the Camel.
