Australian Flying Corps Ranks

The ranks of the Australian Flying Corps were Army Ranks from the Australian Imperial Force. Unlike the Royal Air Force, the AFC did not re-organize itself into a seperate and independant air service, instead remaining an AIF Unit until 1919 when it was demobilized in favour of the Army Air Corps. In 1921, the AAC became the Australian Air Force, an independant air service. Later that year the Royal moniker was picked up and the AAF became the RAAF.
