The two pilot instructors engaged by the State Government in connection with Aviation School, at Richmond are due to arrive in the Rotarua in a few days. According to letters received from the Agent-General, the State is exceedingly fortunate in having secured the services of such distinguished airmen. One of them, Mr W.J Stutt, has made over 6000 ascents, 2000 of them for the Royal Aircraft Factory; in fact, 1500 flights made - in what is known as the "B.E" type of aeroplane were flown for purely experimental work in connection with the factory.

Mr Stutt has flown every type of machine in use for active service, or likely to be used for many months to come. He has been engaged in flying aeroplanes to and from the front in France, and is responsible for most of the Royal Aircraft Factory's research work in stability. Many of the captured German aeroplanes have been taken to the Royal Aircraft factory, where Mr Stutt has carried out tests with them for the War Office.

The other pilot instructor, Mr Andrew Lang, has been a member of the Royal Flying Corps for a long time where he has had exceptional experience in flying, and in giving instruction to others. The two pilot instructors will reach Sydney in a few days and will take up the work immeadiately in anticipation of an official opening of the New South Wales Government Aviation School early next month.
